Bio
Ricky Chaggar is music artist and songwriter, primarily within the country, pop and rock genres. He has also been a composer, with music heard in television and films worldwide.
Born in London, he began playing and creating music at 4 years old. At 17, he won a competition to create music for an event at the Royal Albert Hall, and he also sung there with his school choir. After his music A'level, he studied entertainment and music law. Upon graduating, his wished to return to music and his songwriting was featured on BBC Radio Berkshire.
Soon after, he then developed ME/CFS, a condition which stopped all activities. During extensive periods confined to bed, he taught himself music theory and earned a diploma in composition from Trinity College London. Writing instrumental music at the time, his music was selected as winning entries for festivals of contemporary music.
In 2023, he decided to begin focusing on his path as an artist, and his first songs were released. In March, he gained his first radio play with 'Complaints'. This was broadcast on the BBC Music Introducing, Cambridgeshire. He also performed as an artist for the first time.
As a music artist, he also hopes to raise awareness and understanding of the health conditions he lives with.
